It's hot guys! Anything more than the bare minimum on your back seems excessive. I don't wanna be that person but... Less has to be more in this weather. So it's a shorts and crop top kind of day. But I'm not one to reveal too much so I threw on this netted dress, originally meant as swimwear, to make me feel comfortable.

It's a very warm Sunday morning today, way too hot for any pants. So a dress it is. Lace seems to be my new favourite thing this spring, even in black. You can never go wrong with black and white, no matter the season. To avoid looking or feeling dull add a pop of colour with accessories or shoes. 

It's My Birthday!

It's my Birthday yo'! 

I'm 22 today! I've never been big on celebrating my birthday, so the festivities are usually kept small. I'm spending the entire day with all the people I love the most. Sticking to my small tradition of dressing up on my Birthday, I chose to go all black today, with my leather culottes and a crop top. And we can never forget to add a little splash of colour.

I'm spending the evening portion of my Day with BAE and my closest friends in the world. I chose to wear something a little more sexy for the night, still keeping to my black colour scheme. This evening also seemed like the perfect time to try my new tuxedo jacket out for size. 

Thank you to all for the beautiful day I had and to those who sent the most wonderful of wishes. I am so blessed to be surrounded by so much love. Thank you Lord for getting me through another year of life, the toughest one I've had to endure by far. If it weren't for your mercy, grace and unconditional love I don't know where I'd be today.

Picking my outfit for Church is something I've always enjoyed doing. I normally pick the pieces out that Sunday morning, having already given it quite some thought the night before. Because my church is a lot more lenient with the dress code, I like to dress up in semi-casual fashion. I definitely love to put a pair of heels on. I almost never get a chance to wear any because I'm at Varsity most days. I have to keep it appropriate, so even though the black body suit I have on has a deep décolletage, the cleavage is hidden behind a white lace brazier from LaSenza.

Look at me enjoying Spring Time for all its glory. This outfit feels like spring time to me. It's bright, it has lace, and it's pretty damn cute. Sneakers are a fresh pairing with a dress, adding a lot of edge to the outfit. And the nude leather biker jacket juxtaposed with the soft white lace is a fun change in textiles.

Spending the day at one of my favourite malls in Johannesburg - Eastgate. I take my shopping regime pretty seriously and so I keep the outfit pretty casual and comfortable. I have posted some of my shopping tips on the blog previously, so if you're interested scroll down and check them out. 

Try Something New

I'm having so much fun doing my nails, playing with my nails, applying different colours, seeing them all shiny, matte, sparkly or dark. In the summer I tend to stay away from the dark colours. I absolutely love having two colours on one hand, especially because I'm so indecisive, I can never pick just one. I remember as a little girl I would paint every single nail a different colour. I would literally have 5 different colours on my hand. I guess some could say I haven't really grown up. 

Life Of A Student

Casual Friday with my Dissection Group at Varsity. Although I must admit all Fridays are casual for me. I'm usually spending the day arm deep in a Cadaver. We have a dress code at Med School that we need to adhere to (closed shoes, nothing too short in length, no crop tops and of course our white lab coats). But it never hurt anyone to break a few rules for Fashion's sake right?

Adventure Time

This weekend found me in the West of Johannesburg, spending good quality time with the family. I had a really great time, eating a ton, sitting around the fire and sharing laughs, taking in every drop of wisdom I could get from those older than me. Usually Family Weekend is super chilled, so I style accordingly, packing clothes that I know I'd be comfortable in. Leggings and jeans are my absolute faves when it comes to being comfortable. But I always make sure to pack an outfit or two that I know I'd be ready to wear if we plan to go out somewhere. 

I can never leave the West without paying Clearwater Mall a visit.

 I find that when I go super casual my Tomboy side comes out, because nothing beats sneakers.
