In my personal opinion there are no rules that come with finding yourself the perfect dress. However here are a couple of things to bear in mind when seeking for that new wow dress:
1) DRESS WITH SENSE.
The line between casual and formal has been drawn thin and become very blurred. But dressing for the occasion is still very important. Let’s not wear our expensive, glittery and dazzling dresses to the supermarket Ladies. And when required to dress up, let’s do our part and not throw on our everyday frocks. Comfort and practicality for everyday living; Go Big Or Go Home for those nights you wanna shine.
2) SKIN: LESS IS MORE.
Women seem to confuse sexiness with the amount of skin exposed. This logic couldn’t be anymore false. The secret to looking sexy in a dress is to never show too much skin. The most a woman really needs to show off is 2 areas of her body, maximum. These areas include: cleavage, legs, back, side-boob, shoulders, cutouts. You can’t have it all girls so chose wisely.
3) MUST-HAVES:
Little Black Dress
Little White Dress
A-Line
Empire Waist
Cute Colourful Cocktail Dress
Heels
Spanks (I couldn’t stress that enough).
4) THE FREAKUM DRESS.
Beyonce brought this dress to life and now I wish we could all bury it in the ground. Ladies, let us not forget that the bandage shaped dress is not the only kind of dress you can get. It is also not the most forgiving shape a women can put on her body. Explore other types of silhouettes that dresses come in: Tunic, A-Line, Flared, Pleated, Wrap, Straight and so many more. These shapes, especially if suited for your body, will make you look and feel sexier than any freakum dress ever could.
5) TO THE SHORTIES.
Is it a myth that short girls need to stay away from long dresses? No… No it is not. From one shorty to another, let me personally tell you that long dresses are not very flattering on us. We tend to drown in them and any detail found at the bottom of the dress will be missed. We need to stick to dresses that will elongate either our torsos or our legs. Empire waisted dresses will create the illusion of a higher waist and therefore longer legs. Whereas dresses that are midi length (over the knee, ending at the shin) make our mid-sections seem longer.
As long as you dressing for your body type (shape, height, size) and your personality, no one will be able to pull a dress off quite the way you do.
Stay Eccentric!
PS: DON’T FORGET THOSE SPANKS
